Atlas Seed

Atlas Seed Re-Design

I partnered with Atlas Seed, a California-based cannabis seed breeder, to redesign their website with a focus on simplifying navigation, improving product discovery, and creating clear paths for both retail and wholesale customers. My role covered the full UX process, from reorganizing information architecture and streamlining filters to designing a dual-CTA homepage that better showcased trust-building features like their germination guarantee and free seeds. The redesigned experience made it easier for users to find the right products, access grower resources, and connect with the brand, resulting in faster user flows and stronger engagement from both audiences.

Re-Design Hero Section

Atlas Seed wanted their homepage to immediately convey both the quality of their products and their unique brand personality. To achieve this, I redesigned the hero section to incorporate their seed packs alongside their original, hand-crafted artwork.

The concept was to create a visually rich composition where the seed packs became the focal point, framed and enhanced by the brand’s distinctive illustrations. This approach celebrated Atlas’s identity as both a science-driven breeder and a creative, farmer-owned company.

Site Breakdown

After finalizing the hero, we restructured the site to make it easier for both retail and wholesale users to navigate and shop.

  • Simplified Navigation – Split into clear Retail and Wholesale paths with tailored submenus.

  • Streamlined Filters – Icon-based categories for light cycle, performance traits, and aroma profiles.

  • Product Page Refresh – Key details like strain type, traits, and benefits surfaced first, paired with original artwork.

  • Resource Hub – Centralized grower guides, calculators, and blog content for quick access.

  • Trust Signals – Prominent placement of free seeds, germination guarantee, discreet shipping, and testimonials.

We worked through multiple iterations of the site’s navigation to optimize usability for both retail and wholesale users. This included restructuring the main menu into clear Retail and Wholesale pathways, refining category labels, and introducing icon-based filters for traits like light cycle, yield, and aroma. We also iterated on access to grower resources, ensuring guides, calculators, and educational content were easy to find. Each iteration helped us simplify flows and create a smoother, more intuitive browsing experience.
